The science has revealed that there are 7 Universal Emotions. Anywhere on the planet people will recognize Anger, Surprise, Happy, Disgust, Contempt, Sadness and Fear. The emotions are universal because they have distinct muscle groups or patterns that are unique to each emotion. They also have unique triggers, sensations and impulses. Also worthy of mentioning is that within each emotion is there is a family of emotions. What this means to the on-camera actor is that every recognizable emotional reaction will be a part of or combination of or a blend of these 7 universal emotions.
